Dating Safely

How to date safely and respectfully

Your personal safety is Gloveri's primary focus. Whether you're new or seasoned, you and your data are protected.

Our dedicated approach to your safety

We are dedicated to keeping our online community safe, and we believe it is our responsibility to lead on safety and security in online dating. Whether you're a new or seasoned dater, you and your personal data are protected.

This page is how we set out communicating online safely, including how to spot potential scams, avoid commercial solicitations, and safely meet in real life. Always keep your personal safety in mind, and follow these simple guidelines to reduce your risk of harm, both online and in person.

  • These guidelines cover before, during, and after a date, and we keep them in step with what the product actually does.
  • Traffic to and from the site is encrypted with TLS, and your password is hashed so that no member of staff can read it.
  • Every profile carries a Report control, and 'A scam, or pressuring me to send money' is one of the reasons you can choose.
  • Every account is checked by a person before it is shown to anyone, so the profiles you see have been looked at by us.

How review works here

Every check on Gloveri is carried out by a person. We do not use automated facial recognition, biometric matching, or AI content scanning anywhere in the product, and we would rather tell you that plainly than imply a machine is watching on your behalf.

  • Identity verification is manual. A member of our team compares your government ID and your selfie by eye. No automated face matching is performed at any point.
  • Every profile photo is reviewed by a person before any other member can see it, and it is checked against the photo guidelines below.
  • A photo we cannot accept is deleted from our storage, and you are told which one it was and why.
  • Each time a member of staff opens an identity document, that access is recorded against their account.

Making a safe dating profile

  • Limit the details you share. Keep your full name, home address, workplace, financial information, and phone number private. Use a first name or a playful username, not your full name.
  • Use original photos. Don't reuse images from your social profiles (they enable reverse-image searches), and don't link your dating profile to your social channels.
  • Every member here is verified. Identity verification is mandatory on this platform, so the badge on a profile means a person on our team has checked that member's government ID against their selfie.
  • Keep private photos private. You choose which of your photos are public and which are only visible to members you approve.
  • Move at your own pace. If a conversation makes you uncomfortable, stop replying and contact us at hello@gloveri.example.com.

Are you ready to date safely?

As we expand our safety features, we also want you to feel secure and confident planning an in-person date. A few things to keep in mind:

  • Do a little background research on your date beforehand.
  • Always meet in a public place for the first few dates.
  • Tell a trusted friend or family member your plans.
  • Consider a double date, and arrange your own transportation there and back.
  • Keep private details private until trust is built.
  • Watch your food and drinks; never leave them unattended.
  • Keep your phone charged and location sharing on with someone you trust.
  • Stay sober or watch your alcohol intake, and always carry enough money to get home.
  • Trust your gut. If something feels wrong, leave. Have a 'gotta go' excuse ready.
  • Don't violate your own values or ground rules, and report suspicious or offensive behavior.

After a date

If you're not feeling a connection, it's okay to say so, honestly and right away. If you're simply not interested, don't be afraid to cut contact; going quiet is a clear signal, not rudeness.

  • Feelings need to be mutual. Be honest if you don't want to meet again.
  • If you're not feeling it, stop responding rather than sending repeated 'no's.
  • IMPORTANT: If a member threatens you or commits violence or theft, contact local law enforcement and report the member to us to help protect the community.

Dating honestly and with respect

Life is too short to settle. We want members to find relationships that align with their goals and dreams, and honesty and open communication have always been our core principles.

Approach each date as a chance to get to know someone rather than with expectations. You are in full control of how things progress. If you're uncomfortable, put yourself first and feel free to politely leave. Neither of you owes the other anything, regardless of who pays.

Gloveri's commitment to safety

We employ different tools, processes, and policies to foster respectful communities. While rare, we believe any incident of misconduct is one too many, which is why we work tirelessly to keep you and our community safe.

  • Mandatory identity verification. Every member in the directory has had a government ID and a selfie checked by a person, and nobody who has not can be seen or send you a message.
  • Both verification images are permanently deleted the moment a decision is made. We keep the outcome, not the evidence.
  • Every profile photo is reviewed by a person before it is published.
  • Member data is encrypted in transit and at rest; passwords are hashed and cannot be read by staff.
  • Staff access to identity documents is logged, so we can always answer who looked at what.
  • You can report any member from their profile, and a person reads every report. Nothing is decided by a machine and no number of reports closes an account on its own.
  • You can block any member from their profile. It takes effect at once, in both directions, they are not told, and you can undo it from Settings.
  • A strict ban on escorting, prostitution, and paid sex, written into our Terms of Use.

Gloveri's safety policies

We make every effort to identify, detect, and remove bad actors. We prohibit the following people from using our product:

  • Anyone younger than 18 years of age.
  • Anyone convicted of (or who pleaded no contest to) a felony and/or a violent or sexual crime.
  • Registered sex offenders, and anyone suspected of sex trafficking.
  • Zero-tolerance policy for hate speech, enforced by our review team.
  • Your date of birth is validated when you sign up, and under-18s are refused at that point. The reviewer who checks your government ID sees the date you gave us and compares it against the document.
  • We do not allow prostitution, sex trafficking, or solicitation of any kind.
  • We close accounts for fraud and scams, and you can block any member yourself. We instruct members to treat any request for money from someone they have never met as a likely scam.

Where we draw the line

Gloveri is a sugar dating platform for consenting adults: generosity, gifts, and an elevated lifestyle can openly be part of a relationship here. What Gloveri never allows is paid sex. Escorting, prostitution, and any exchange of money, gifts, or anything of value as payment for sexual activity are strictly prohibited by our Terms of Use.

  • Photo review: a reviewer checks every photo against the guidelines below, and refuses any that advertise sexual services or put a price on companionship.
  • Every profile carries a Report control, and 'Offering or asking to pay for sex' is one of the reasons you can choose. A person reads every report.
  • Accounts that cross this line are removed. The prohibition is in our Terms of Use, and accepting them is a condition of holding an account.

Photo & video guidelines

Photos that violate these guidelines will be denied, and your account may be suspended. All photos must include yourself.

  • Acceptable: partially blurred/masked photos, clothed body photos, luxury items if you're also in the photo, and photos where all private areas are fully covered.
  • Not accepted: photos without you in them, extreme close-ups, any images featuring minors, nudity or sexually explicit content, illegal/inappropriate content, duplicates, third-party or copyrighted images, or photos with contact info/logos.
  • Your primary photo must feature your unobstructed face, include only you, and be an authentic representation (no heavy editing or AI generation).
  • Provocative/suggestive primary photos, and indoor swimwear/lingerie/shirtless primary photos, are not allowed.

Community guidelines

Our platform may be used only for lawful purposes by individuals looking for romantic relationships. Keep our community classy. Gloveri strictly prohibits, among other things:

  • Escorting, prostitution, or facilitating human trafficking of any kind.
  • Exploiting or soliciting anyone under 18. Such violations result in termination and possible referral to authorities.
  • Posting false, misleading, or inaccurate content, or impersonating others.
  • Sharing passwords, soliciting personal information, spam, advertising, or any commercial use.
  • Contacting members off-site without permission, or recruiting for other services.
  • Advertising sexual services or a price for your company, including 'pay per meet' rates or paid dates. Profiles that price companionship or sex will be denied.

Report or block a member

Every profile has a Report and a Block control at the foot of the page. Reporting sends the member's account to our review queue, where a person reads it; the member is never told that you reported them. Blocking is immediate: neither of you can see or message the other afterwards, they are not told, and you can undo it at any time from your Settings.

We read every report, and we act on them by hand. We are not able to write back to you about what we decide, and no number of reports closes an account on its own. If you would rather write to us, or you cannot reach the member's profile, email hello@gloveri.example.com.

If a member has threatened you or committed a crime, contact local law enforcement immediately, then report them to us.
